In March 2018, Izzy the little 5 year old Shih Tzu X visited The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University for a very important MRI scan. In mid 2016, Izzy started suffering from sezuires and other neurological issues. After two CT scans, she was diagnosed with meningioencephalitis, a condition where inflammation of the membranes of the brain and the adjoining cerebral tissue occur. To monitior her condition, her owners travelled all the way from Kalgoorlie so Izzy could have an MRI scan which would show far greater detail of her brain compared to her previous CT scans.

In December 2017, The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University acquired the first high field (1.5T) MRI for animals. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows optimal visualisation of the brain and spinal cord and is invaluable in assessing patients that present with neurological disease. In collaboration with the Animal Hospital, Vet Imaging Specialists is able to accept patients for MRI imaging on an Outpatient basis allowing referring vets to gain access to this advanced imaging whilst still regaining management and care of their cases.

We are excited to announce that as of 1 June 2017, Vet Imaging Specialists has relocated to The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University. We are able to provide independent outpatient diagnostic imaging services for referring veterinarians and their clients. Animals can be referred directly to Vet Imaging Specialists for abdominal ultrasonography, echocardiography musculoskeletal ultrasonography etc. A radiographic interpretation services is easily facilitated by the Vet Imaging Specialists image upload link. Additionally, in collaboration with The Animal Hospital, Vet Imaging Specialists is able to provided access to advanced diagnostic imaging modailties such as Computed Tomography on an outpatient basis.
